Promise Ball Event Details
It will be a starlit evening at the Hyatt Regency hotel in downtown Columbus on April 5th when hundreds of people will gather to raise funds for research toward finding a cure for diabetes. Those attending will have the opportunity to bid on exotic trips, dinners, jewelry, special events and more as organizers hope to generate nearly half million dollars toward JDRF’s research goals.
The 2008 Promise Ball, with its theme of A Million Wishes, is sure to be an exciting evening with live and silent auctions, music, local celebrities and more. During the evening, the Mid-Ohio Chapter will honor Columbus’ own Dr. William B. Zipf for his significant efforts in improving the lives of children in our community. Adored by patients and parents alike, respected by colleagues, and revered by the Central Ohio medical community as one of the finest pediatric endocrinologists in the area, Dr. Zipf has been relentlessly supportive of the JDRF cause since the inception of the local chapter.
Emceed by WBNS-10TV’s Angela An and Heather Pick, the event kicks off with a cocktail reception and will also feature a number of live entertainers, guest speaker appearances, and a fabulous live auction. Entertainer Michael Sutherland will join us for the entire evening, with a range and music that will be interjected throughout the program. Don't forget, we'll have some time for dancing at the end of the evening, so wear your dancing shoes!
“We’re hoping to pack the room for an exciting evening that will help the Mid-Ohio Chapter raise funds for JDRF’s important research,” says Committee Chair Sherry Paprocki. “We invite everyone to put the evening of April 5th on their calendars as a must-attend event.” For additional information regarding auction contributions, sponsorships or tickets, contact the JDRF office at (614) 464-2873 or visit www.jdrf.org/midohio.
“We think this year’s event will be our best ever,” said Mid-Ohio Board President, Julie Kendle. “ Our theme, A Million Wishes, combined with this elegant, fun night that includes dinner, live entertainment and silent, and live auctions, will certainly help us reach our goals.”
The annual gala, a major fundraiser for JDRF, is black tie optional. Individual tickets are available for $200, or you may purchase a full 10 seat table for $2,000. People interested in purchasing tickets for the 2008 Promise Ball, A Million Wishes, or are interested in sponsorship, may contact the JDRF office at (614) 464-2873 or midohio@jdrf.org.
